Experimental Half-Hour is a cable television show that showcases local and international musicians, dancers, comedians, writers, and performance artists. Our collaborators include established professional artists as well as new performers that excite and inspire us. In addition to broadcasting locally and maintaining a free Internet archive, we engage with the community by curating live multimedia performances, screening episodes at local festivals, and strongly encouraging public participation at tapings. Experimental Half-Hour facilitates a connection between artists and the often underestimated resources our community provides to create, document, and share work with others. Conceptual growth is stimulated by access to a broad range of new and old technologies. A video might be shot in HD, then edited on an analogue mixer. A visual artist might have the opportunity to play with a green screen for the first time.
The Fijuk network is an intricate web of independent festivals, publishers and artists initiated by Novo Doba festival in Serbia. Alternative comics is not the only common denominator between the different protagonists in the network, but certainly the dominant taste. Fijuk is an alchemical factory for promotion, collaboration, experimentation and publicist exploration of comics and related art forms. This year Fijuk is arranging laboratories for artistic mishaps and chance encounters on Novo Doba festival (Serbia), Škver (Croatia), Crack fumetti dirompenti (Italy), Metelkova Mesto anniversary (Slovenia), Otompotom (Croatia) and Angouleme festival (France), as well as publishing the periodical literary review Pionir. On Škver the Fijuk laboratory will set up a silkscreen workshop and collect energies from all actors of the shipyards.

“The roots and spirit of various cultures are being kept in dusty, forgotten boxes with audio tapes – not on the cold screen of faceless, virtual globalism. The Lenhart Tapes project is digging through those boxes and interlaces sounds of various cultures – traditional and modern, rustic and urban – by using walkmans, without any rules or order, by intuition and often chaotically, sometimes exotically bizarre or madly melodic. Like a sound kaleidoscope, it targets the world of accumulated, mass and deformed cultures… Stevan Lenhart”

Bio: Taryn Tomasello (b.1982 Boston, MA USA) is an artist who combines found and sought materials to complete simple site specific gestures. Project Description: I intend to respond to the shipyard’s architecture and social environment with an installation/ installations combining fabric, rope, concrete and found materials. These pieces will focus on describing various absences. I would love to involve the shipyard workers. Specifically I would like to talk with them about the space. Maybe there are things that they really like or don’t like about it. I will also observe the space in daily use to map patterns of activity. If there are workers that are interested in this project maybe they would like to participate in a collaborative performative repetitive gesture that results in a sculptural residue.
